An Alternate AR Cartridge

Looking for an alternative to your AR 15 in .223 Remington? If you follow this blog at all you know I really like the .30 Remington AR but there is another .30 caliber option for the AR 15. It’s Wilson Combat’s 7.62 X 40 WT which is essentially a .223 Remington necked up to .30 caliber. It has a bit more punch than the .300 Blackout and an AR mag for the 7.62 X 40 WT will hold a lot more ammo than a magazine for a .30 Remington AR. It will dump hogs too. Bat Mann proved that in Texas last summer. You might best describe this cartridge as a .30-30 for an AR. What’s wrong with that?

Check out my REVIEW of this rifle / cartridge combo at Shooting Illustrated. I think this would make a great cartridge for the soon to be released Mossberg MVP Predator and all you would need to do is change the barrel.
