Contrary to what some may have heard, Marlin is still in business. After relocating manufacturing to New York it was found that many of the machines needed to be updated. This, as could be expected, led to delays in productivity so Marlin suspended the manufacture of several firearms until this could be properly addressed. Soon, all will be back to normal.
In the mean time, for 2012, Marlin will be offering an updated look as an option to their model 336. This new rifle will have a laminated hardwood stock and all metal will have a matte blue finish. You have to admit, this is a pretty darn good looking lever gun.
