Ready to Carry

Received my Florida, non-resident, concealed carry permit in the mail while I was gone. Took $ 117.00 and just over three weeks. I will let my permit in WV expire and I can now carry concealed in 34 states including Missouri (where I will be in two weeks) and Texas (where I will be in three weeks.)

I just received my Florida RESIDENT CCP. It cost me $117.00 as well.

  2. gunwriter says:

Congrats! How long to get yours?

  3. RG says:

5-7 days. I was curious because you stated you received a NON-resident CCP. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I guess it’s good though cuz the Florida CCP is good in allot of states.

How was the FL non-resident process?

I got my TX CHL last year… the written portion of the course was a joke, and the practical (live-fire) exercise was trivially easy. After I sent in all my paperwork, they kicked it back to me twice. Once on the complaint about fingerprints not being up to spec, and another because they didn’t like my passport photo. 5 and a half months after taking the class and submitting paperwork, my license arrived in the mail.

I understand Florida costs a bit more, but is good for 7 years. I did a class for the Utah CCW, and sent that off a week ago. The states they have reciprocity with matches well with my travels to go hunting…
